Laser Hair Removal

How does laser hair removal work with our technology?

Laser hair removal uses laser light energy with a specific wavelength that targets the pigments in your hair to help reduce hair growth with each session. Lasers emit energy in the form of light onto the skin which destroys the hair follicles to reduce or stop future growth. Specifically, our BLEND X technology harnesses the power of two wavelengths to target your hair for greater effectiveness for hair-free skin.

How many sessions will I need?

Lasers are effective when hair is at an early growth stage. Because not all hairs will be at the same stage at the same time, you'll need multiple treatments to permanently remove the unwanted hair. However, thanks to our BLEND X technology, you should need fewer sessions than with a laser using just a single wavelength. The number of sessions required varies from person to person based on skin type, medical history, and treatment area. A minimum of 6 sessions is typically what's recommended for most people. This will be covered during your initial consultation. Hair reduction is considered permanent when a significant amount of hair does not return for longer than the complete growth cycle. You can notice a reduction in hair growth after as quickly as 1 session. The most obvious hair reduction should be observed in the first 3-4 sessions. As hair becomes finer and sparser, hair reduction may appear less noticeable. Typically, the higher the contrast between the hair color and skin color, the quicker the results.

Which areas can be treated?

Any part of the body that grows unwanted hair from head to toe! The only exception is eyebrows since it would interfere with the eyewear required for all laser treatments. Between the eyebrows is treatable. White/grey hair is unfortunately not treatable as there isn't enough pigment for the laser to detect.

How long do I have to wait between treatments?

Typically for the first 1-3 sessions: 4-6 weeks for underarms, bikini, face 6-8 weeks for legs, arms, back, torso After the 3rd or 4th session, the interval between treatments might be closer to 3 or 4 months, since time for regrowth of remaining hair is getting longer with an increasing number of sessions. Since hair growth cycles and the shedding process take time, too short of an interval between the treatments is essentially ineffective. Every individuals growth will be monitored and time between appoints will be adjusted accordingly.

Does it hurt?

People often describe the feeling as a rubber band lightly snapping on your skin. The pain and discomfort is for most people more tolerable than waxing. Due to the cooling device attached to our laser which blows out cold air on the area being treated, the discomfort is minimal compared to most other laser hair removal machines.

How do I prepare for my session?

The area to be treated must be shaved the day before treatment. Waxing, tweezing, or hair removal creams, must be discontinued at least 6 weeks before your first session and between sessions. Products containing Retin-A, salicylic acid, lactic acid, glycolic acid, should not be used 2 weeks prior to treatment, or longer if you retain a tan for long periods. This includes tanning beds and self-tanning creams/sprays. We cannot treat anyone with sunburn or fresh tan.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Don't worry, redness and bumps are normal after treatment and may last up to 2 hours or longer. Anywhere from 5-30 days after the treatment, shedding of the hair may occur, this is not new hair growth but actually, the dead hair pushing its way out of the follicle. You will need to avoid swimming pools, jacuzzis, hot showers, exercise, and excessive heat for 48 hours after treatment.
